Genesis Bonus Episode – Longing for Eden

In this subscriber-only bonus episode of Faith by Reason, I explain that Genesis 3 shows how humanity’s expulsion from Eden became the source of our perpetual dissatisfaction: we were made for Eden’s perfection, but in our fallen state we try to recreate Eden without God. I describe Eden as perfect peace, provision, security, justice, community, and fellowship with Jehovah, and argue that understanding this longing explains human behavior—from personal striving and consumerism to celebrity misery, addictions (as illegitimate responses to legitimate needs for joy and intimacy), and even wealthy elites seeking global control through organizations and policy. I connect this to the coming millennium under Christ and the final restoration of true Eden in Revelation, concluding that Eden is only possible through accepting Jesus and being made sinless.
